Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 78a6672ced Move log sort selector from Log Preview to Timeline header
The "Sort by" / "fall back to ottyl_seq" control now lives in
LogTimeline's header next to the time-range presets, since the setting
actually drives the shared range/log fetch rather than being a
Log-Preview-only concern. LogSortSettings and its load/save helpers
moved into LogTimeline.tsx alongside SortPicker; the localStorage key
was renamed to ottyl.logTimeline.sort, with loadLogSortSettings falling
back to the old ottyl.logPreview.sort key so an existing choice isn't
lost on first load after the move. LogPreview now just renders logs in
whatever order the caller already sorted them.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 3d2652e95b Add sort_by ordering for the log viewer, with a missing-param fallback/drop toggle (ticket 045)
/api/logs now accepts sort_by (an already-declared param name) and
sort_missing_fallback: lines carrying that param are ordered by its value,
while lines missing it are either appended in ottyl_seq order (fallback,
the default) or dropped from the response. Default ottyl_ts-tracking
order is unchanged when sort_by is omitted.

The log viewer (both the inline panel and its popout) exposes this as a
"Sort by" control next to the column picker, persisted to localStorage
under one shared key (ottyl.logPreview.sort) — the same global-viewer-
setting convention already used for visible param columns and the log
viewer's height, since there's no per-dashboard scope for this to divide
by.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 cb101aa5da Render JSON log lines as collapsible key/value trees (ticket 014)
LogPreview.tsx now detects when a log line's raw text parses as a JSON
object and renders it as a collapsible tree instead of raw text; any
other line (non-JSON or invalid JSON) keeps today's plain-text
rendering unchanged. Client-side only, no backend changes.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 ae4e550c1f Anchor log viewer scroll to visible content and add 1m/2m timeline presets
The log table no longer jumps when a sliding window prunes rows from the
front: scroll position now tracks the same visible row instead of holding
scrollTop constant in pixels. Also adds 1m/2m to the timeline quick-range
presets.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 00c21c8032 Trim comments across Rust and webapp source to direct one-liners (ticket 030)
Pass over src/*.rs, webapp/src/**, and the in-app "?" docs prose:
condensed multi-paragraph doc comments to single lines that state the
non-obvious why, deleted comments that only restated adjacent code, and
tightened the Docs.tsx help-panel wording. No logic, structure, or code
formatting changed — verified via cargo test (143 passed) and
tsc -b && vite build.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 dd1a0a234d Add Params declaration UI (ticket 034)
New Params panel (Log viewer / Params / Metrics / Dashboards) declares a
bare param via POST /api/params, mirroring Metrics' declare-then-list
pattern including inline 400 error surfacing. Lifted the params list from
LogPreview's own effect into App.tsx so declaring a param there updates
the Columns picker immediately, without a page reload.

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 abc061a7b1 Add contextual "?" help icons linking into Docs (ticket 021)
New HelpIcon component + a DocsNavProvider context (webapp/src/lib/docsNav.tsx)
let any component request "open Docs to section X", bumping a nonce each
time so a repeat click re-triggers even if Docs is already open to that
section. NavMenu forwards that request into DocsPanel as a `target` prop,
which expands the right accordion section, scrolls it into view, and
flashes it (a brief accent-tinted background/border, settling back after
1.2s) — verified visually with a live server + Playwright. Opening Docs via
the plain NavMenu button explicitly clears any pending target, so that path
is unchanged: no forced section, no flash.

Added a "?" icon to FilterBar, LogTimeline, LogPreview, Metrics, Dashboards,
and NavMenu's own Settings/Presets panels, plus new Docs sections for
Timeline, Log preview, Settings, and Presets (previously undocumented).

Hugh KaznowskiandClaude Sonnet 5 7514052048 Add selectable declared-param columns to LogPreview (ticket 015)
Extend GET /api/logs to derive each declared param's value per log line
(regex + capture group + kind, matching that line's text) and include it as
a params map on LogEntryDto, omitting entries that don't match rather than
sending nulls. Add GET /api/params (list_params, mirroring list_metrics) so
the frontend can discover currently-declared param names. In LogPreview, add
a column-picker popover backed by that list, with the selection persisted in
localStorage under `ottyl.logPreview.visibleParamColumns`.
